According to Triller’s latest announcement, it’s about “consolidating technology, apps and entertainment and lifestyle content platforms” and using “customer engagement technology to launch new business verticals at the intersection of technology, entertainment and brands”.
So now you know! But there is some actual news here: Triller has acquired marketing firm Amplify·ai and appointed its CEO Mahi de Silva – a veteran of the mobile entertainment industry – as the new boss of its TrillerNet holding company. Current CEO Mike Lu is shifting to president.
Cue our favourite canned quote of 2021 so far, from Lu: “With this step we have officially replaced the inefficient brand funnel and turned it into a perfect cylinder.”
In other news, Triller has also bought a combat sports livestreaming service called Fite TV.
