Latin America has long been a key set of territories for Deezer, and now the streaming service is doubling down in Brazil with a new media partnership. It’s with a big player too: video streaming company Globoplay.

Its users will now get a year’s access to Deezer’s premium tier – one of the longest free trials we’ve seen from such a partnership – with the two companies also planning to work on video and audio content together.

The news came alongside Deezer announcing another deal in Brazil, to become a ‘strategic partner’ for TV Talent show The Voice there.

Elsewhere in the world, Deezer is continuing to give podcasts more priority within its service. It has launched its ‘podcast’ tab in Asia, Africa and Oceania, taking the number of countries where it offers podcasts past the 180 mark. “We’ve had a sevenfold increase in monthly podcast users since 2017,” said VP of content Frédéric Antelme.
