Clubhouse is only just over one year old, but is already reportedly valued at $4bn, with several million users. One thing hampering its growth is the fact that its app is only available on iPhone, but that’s changing now.

“Clubhouse for Android will start rolling out in beta immediately. We will begin gradually, with the US today, followed by other English-speaking countries and then the rest of the world,” announced the company. “Our plan over the next few weeks is to collect feedback from the community, fix any issues we see and work to add a few final features like payments and club creation before rolling it out more broadly.”

It’s good timing, not least because a steep decline in Clubhouse’s iOS downloads has recently been making headlines. App analytics firm Sensor Tower recently claimed that its iPhone app was installed 9.6m times in February, 2.7m times in March, and just 922k times in April.
