Rockstar Games has a long and fruitful history of music partnerships, from the innovative in-game radio stations of its later Grand Theft Auto games to its recent opening of a virtual nightclub in GTA V’s online version, with performances from real DJs. Its next step is… launching a record label. Well, CircoLoco Records is a partnership with dance-music events organiser CircoLoco, with plans to launch a series of EPs and a compilation album for starters. For now, the details focus on the artists who are involved: DJ Moodymann, Carl Craig, Seth Troxler and more.

While there’s a promise to “break new ground in an effort to support and elevate dance music culture during one of the most fraught periods ever experienced for clubs”, we’ll have to wait to find out whether that groundbreaking includes any creative applications (or perhaps just effective sync placements) within Rockstar’s games too.
