Tixxy sells concert tickets with targeted text messages

As the industry eagerly awaits the return of physical concerts at scale in countries where they were shut down due to Covid-19, so the startups around the live industry are preparing too.

One of the newest is Tixxy, based in the US. It’s a personalised concert recommendations service using text messages to ping fans when an artist they might like announces a gig near them.

The US launch has some partners on board: ticketing firm AXS, management company 10th Street Entertainment, and ‘VIP ticketing’ platform Sound Rink.

Tixxy’s offering remind us of another company, Seated, which was one of the winners of the 2018 Midemlab startups contest with its plans to remind fans when tickets went on sale for their favourite artists. However, Seated was recently acquired by Sofar Sounds, potentially leaving a gap in the market for Tixxy.
