There is change at the top for Hybe, the K-Pop giant formerly known as Big Hit Entertainment. CEO Bang Si-hyuk is stepping down to focus more on music production, according to Variety, although he will also still be chairman of the company’s board of directors.
He is being replaced as CEO by Park Ji-won, who joined the company last year from the games industry, with Hybe’s US arm appointing co-CEOs Lenzo Yoon and Scooter Braun – the latter fresh from merging his Ithaca Holdings company with Hybe in April this year.
Hybe is also upgrading its Japanese office to a full regional HQ. “We have restructured the scope of roles and responsibilities to suit the expertise of each leader so they can aggressively lead and expand in the Korean, the US, and Japanese markets,” is how the company presented the moves.
