Mention of Tetris and music will set an almighty earworm going for many readers – and if it doesn’t, we can help with that! But yes, the latest Tetris game will have a musical focus, including licensed tracks. It’s called Tetris Beat, and will be exclusive to the Apple Arcade games service when it launches in the near future. The game will use the famous block-dropping Tetris formula, with an emphasis on doing it in rhythm with the game’s soundtrack.
The game appears to be focusing on emerging and independent artists: Alison Wonderland, Garza, Hannah Diamond, Octo Octa, Dauwd and Cinthie are the first to be announced, with the promise of new songs added every month to keep it fresh.
You can watch a teaser clip here, while N3twork is the developer and publishers, labels and artists will need to ping to see if they can get involved.
