Audioshake Live will help labels create ‘stems on demand’

Audioshake launched earlier this year with a technology for deconstructing music tracks into stems. Now it is launching a service specifically for labels, publishers and other companies to use the tech to “create instrumentals and stems on demand”.

It’s called Audioshake Live, uses a subscription pricing model, and has already been used by WMG, Hipgnosis, Downtown Music and CD Baby among other companies.

The technology involves uploading a track, then choosing which stems (out of bass, drums, guitar, instrumentals, vocals and a catch-all ‘other’ category’) to create.

Audioshake is pitching the service’s merits for helping sync licensing (“to create turnkey instrumentals that reduce all the back-and-forth involved in preparing a sync pitch”), remixes and re-masters. “Our aim is to put this technology in the hands of everyone who can benefit from it, but to do so respectfully, in partnership with the music industry, so that artists’ copyrights and creative wishes are front and centre,” said Audioshake.
