US satellite radio firm SiriusXM is adding a new tier to its subscription packages, at the top end of its offering. The ‘Platinum VIP‘ tier will include access to all its stations for up to two cars, including access to its streaming app SXM.

There’s an on-demand library of video and audio live concerts courtesy of partner Nugs·net, and extra perks like entry to events with artists, athletes and celebrities. The new tier will cost $34.99 a month, and is a replacement for the existing ‘All Access’ tier of SiriusXM’s service.

SiriusXM is also making the SXM app a better funnel for its service, with people able to download it and try out the service for three hours, before deciding whether to subscribe using an in-app purchase.

The company is hoping to build on its growth in recent years with all this. At the end of March it had 31 million ‘self-pay’ subscribers, and quarterly revenue of $1.62bn.
