Last October, we wrote about US collecting society Ascap’s innovation arm, Ascap Lab, when it ran a ‘seed project’ challenge around music/tech. Now it’s following up with an ‘Immersive Music Studio Challenge’, aimed at music/tech startups and university teams.
The 12-week initiative includes grants for four ‘finalists’ who will work with Ascap Lab’s mentors, and then present at a demo day on 12 August. The four finalists include AI music startup Boomy; music software plugin MiSynth; a ‘mixed-reality album experience’ called Otherwards by The Slashers; and a hybrid in-person/virtual live events platform called Social by Dotdot.
It’s an interesting lineup, and you can get more information on the four projects here ahead of the demo day.
