Well, actually the total is 5,141,330 at the time of writing: we can be so specific because Audius has a public dashboard of its key stats, including unique monthly users. But yes, the decentralised streaming service has passed the milestone of five million monthly active users, three years after its launch in 2018.

In announcing the news, Audius also pointed out that it has attracted artists including Skrillex, Weezer, Deadmau5, Russ, Mike Shinoda, Diplo and Disclosure to its service, while also recently signing a partnership with veteran music discovery service Hype Machine.

“We have worked to create a strong, engaged community and an easy-to-navigate interface, and that’s what’s attracted and kept fans and musicians on Audius,” said CEO Roneil Rumburg in a statement. The company claims that its 5m milestone makes it the ‘biggest consumer blockchain app’ so far, too.
