2021 will be the magic number for De La Soul, as the hip-hop veterans confirmed plans to finally bring their full back catalogue to streaming services.

The group are working with Reservoir Media, which acquired the label (Tommy Boy) that holds the rights to the back catalogue in June. Plans were afoot then to finally digitise it, with Reservoir confirming at the time that “we have already reached out to De La Soul and will work together to bring the catalogue and the music back to the fans”.

De La Soul and Tommy Boy had famously been at loggerheads over an agreement to digitise and re-release their classic albums, but yesterday the group confirmed the news in an endearingly shambolic Instagram livestream. “We’re trying to work hard and diligently along with the good folks up at Reservoir to get this done…”
