Fitness-tech firm Peloton launched some new workout classes this weekend, and they represent a very interesting partnership with two big hitters of the entertainment industry: Spotify and Disney.

“Be our guest as you run, ride, move, flow and sing along with us to the songs that make so many special memories,” is how Peloton announced the classes. The classes don’t just feature Disney hits – they’re based on ‘Disney Hits‘, the Spotify playlist which has more than 3.8 million followers on the streaming service.

According to Peloton-focused site Pelo Buddy, the classes will include running, cycling, yoga and strength training. It also notes that this is not Spotify and Peloton’s first partnership, with previous classes based on playlists including ‘Hot Country’, ‘We Everywhere’ and ‘Housewerk’.

Spotify has always had lots of fitness-focused playlists, but partnering with Peloton is an intriguing expansion of its interest in the sector, especially given the way Apple’s Peloton rival Fitness+ integrates with Apple Music.
