Games firm Roblox has reported its latest financial results, with its revenues up 127% to $454.1m in the second quarter of this year.
Bookings – a metric covering how much money Roblox users spent on the company’s Robux currency, although they’re not all recognised as revenues until the players spend that currency – grew by 35% to $665.5m.
Roblox also provided some user figures for July 2021, when it averaged 46.6 million daily active users, up 8% quarter-on-quarter and 28% year-on-year.
Those players spent 3.8bn hours on Roblox in July alone, spending between $221m and $224m on Robux. That’s an average of $4.75-$4.81 per user.
The news comes as Roblox continues working on its music strategy, most recently with a performance by British artist KSI. Its public page shows that his launch party has so far generated more than 11.3m visits, with more than 93,000 Roblox users marking it as a favourite.
Finally, Roblox has also announced its latest acquisition: of Discord-like chat startup Guilded.
