Snapchat’s Lens Studio and Facebook’s Spark AR Studio have been used by a growing number of labels and artist teams to create augmented reality campaigns on those platforms. TikTok has its own AR ambitions, and now it is working on creative tools to match those rivals.
They’re being branded as Effect Studio according to TechCrunch, which reported on the launch of a website – Effect House– that is giving developers early access to the private beta. Details are thin on the ground, but it’s comparable to those other social apps’ tools, with developers able to build AR ‘effects’ that people will be able to use in their TikTok videos.
Music has been part of some of the popular filters / lenses (each platform prefers its own word) on those apps, so we can expect it to play a part in TikTok’s effects too.
