Livestreaming is an increasingly important part of TikTok, including its partnerships with artists. J Balvin is the latest musician to sign up to perform live on TikTok, with a ‘Jose X TikTok‘ event set for 12 September.
Promising “the visual inventiveness and high production value characteristic of his performances”, the hour-long concert will include past hits and tracks from Balvin’s new album ‘Jose’. He should pull a decent crowd: Balvin has more than 17 million followers in its app, making him the most-followed Latin artist on TikTok.
In separate ‘TikTok events’ news, meanwhile, the company has announced plans for TikTok World: “a bespoke virtual platform and our inaugural event on September 28 where we’ll look into the future of creativity, community and commerce”. So, this is for marketers – labels will want to tune in – to show off “new creative, branding, and commerce solutions and more”. You can sign up for the event here.
