Space Shower Fuga

Last year, distributor Fuga announced a partnership with Japanese company Space Shower Networks to launch a joint venture in Japan in 2021. Now it has opened for business, with a 10-strong team led by director Tamaki Yamashita. She has a long experience in distribution in Japan, having joined Space Shower in 2011 when it acquired a distributor called Boundee.

Space Shower Fuga has also announced deals with 15 digital music services in Japan, including Recochoku, music·jp, Line Music and Mora. Labels already working with the new venture include Jazzy Sport, Mary Joy Recordings, Pizza of Death Records – Music Ally’s new favourite name for a label – SDR and Summit.

The launch is the latest move for Fuga since its acquisition by Downtown Music Holdings in January 2020. In July this year, it also co-led a funding round in blockchain and data startup Verifi Media.

Disclosure: Space Shower Fuga is the sponsor of our Music Ally Japan service this year.
