Twitch is fast becoming a music TV network in its own right, thanks to the number of channels launching live shows focusing on artists and songs.
The latest example is intriguing, because it comes from songwriter-focused company American Songwriter, at a time when publishers – the rightsholders for that community – are still on the warpath over Twitch’s licensing status.
American Songwriter’s channel will host three live shows, including one hosted by producer, engineer and songwriter Linda Perry from her LA studio. Another will focus on songwriting teams in Nashville, and the third will be an extension of American Songwriter’s existing ‘Off The Record’ interview series.
With 42 followers at time of writing it’s very early days for the channel, but it will be interesting to see how it grows that audience.
