spotify enhance

When you’re creating a playlist on Spotify, for a long time now the service has offered a helping hand with a list of ‘recommended’ tracks at the bottom, based on the songs you’ve already added. Now Spotify is taking a step on from that with a new feature called ‘Enhance‘.

It’s only for premium subscribers (which is interesting in itself) and can be toggled on or off for each user-created playlist. When it’s on, Spotify will automatically add recommendations in between your own tracks.

“You’ll get one recommendation after every two tracks, for a max of 30 recommendations,” explained the company. “If you like what you see, press the “+” icon next to each new track to permanently add them to the playlist.”

It sounds like a useful feature for people who want it. Watch this closely though. If Spotify ever decides to extend its much-discussed ‘Discovery Mode’ paid-promotion program beyond its radio and autoplay features, ‘Enhance’ may be an obvious candidate for that expansion.
