Apple held its latest big products and software launch last night, with new iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches. From the music industry’s point of view, the biggest news was the upcoming expansion of Apple Fitness+, the company’s Peloton-rivalling workouts-with-music service.
It’s currently available in six countries: the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand. This year the $9.99-a-month service will be expanding to 15 more: Austria, Brazil, Colombia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland and the UAE.
Apple is also adding guided meditation, Pilates and group workouts to the service, and launching more ‘Artist Spotlight’ workouts based on the music of Billie Eilish, Calvin Harris, Imagine Dragons and Nicki Minaj.
More artists are also on board for the service’s ‘Time to Walk’ feature, with talks for walks by Bebe Rexha, Camila Cabello and Reba McEntire all on the way.
