We wrote about Australian company Melodie earlier this year when it signed a deal with AI audio analysis startup Musiio to help its clients – it licenses music to businesses and individual creators – root through its catalogue.
Now it has announced another partnership to aid its growth, with B2B company (and fellow Australian firm) Tuned Global. Melodie’s catalogue will now be available to the music streaming services that Tuned Global runs for clients.
The deal follows a recent $600k seed funding round for Melodie, and comes as it prepares to launch its film and TV licensing department in the US.
Tuned Global boss Con Raso sees the deal as providing support for the Australian music industry “by distributing a whole catalogue of independent Australian artists to worldwide clients, as part of a full offer built for online music services”.
