Boxer Tyson Fury is undeniably wonderful at the task of punching people very hard in the mush. That skill is not quite as in demand in the world of tech startups though. Still, as Fury prepares for his next heavyweight fight, he’s also dipping his toes (or fists?) into the startups world.
Fury is backing a new app called My AAA, which is one of the companies springing up to offer a ‘creator subscriptions but not XXX-rated’ alternative to OnlyFans. It launched late last week on Apple’s App Store, and is focusing on musicians, podcasters, sports stars and other public figures who want to launch their own paid communities of superfans.
Fury will be posting exclusive content after his fight with Deontay Wilder on 9 October, and has pitched it as a safer-for-mental-health alternative to the big social networks. “When this project came along, it seemed like the perfect way for me to have an enjoyable social media experience with my real supporters…”
