The Techstars Music accelerator is seeking its next cohort of startups, with a deadline of 27 October to apply for the 2022 program, which starts in January. In an email to contacts, its team added that since its last demo day in May, startups in its 2021 cohort have raised $8m in funding, taking their total since joining Techstars Music to $12.5m.

However, it’s another part of that email that has got our attention, focusing on the departure of Techstars Music director Jen Hall.

“The good news for us is she isn’t going very far. Jen is starting a new music & audio company inside Amazon,” it explained. Hall’s LinkedIn profile merely lists her as working on ‘new projects’ at Amazon.

Count us intrigued about what Hall and Amazon may be working on in outside its existing music services…
