Audio Up is a podcast production studio that has made shows with the likes of Stephen King, Michael Cohen and Rosanna Arquette, as well as a series of music-focused podcasts. Now the company has raised $12m of Series B funding from investors including SiriusXM, Reservoir, The Weeknd and music manager Larry Rudolph.
“There is enormous growth opportunity in the business of listenership and we are proud to be partnering with Jared and the team to bring creative musical and storytelling experiences to the masses,” said Reservoir boss Golnar Khosrowshahi.
The deal also gives SiriusXM a ‘first look’ option over Audio Up’s new, original podcasts for its satellite radio service and Pandora streaming service. Audio Up has its roots in the music industry too: its founder is Jared Gutstadt, who previously founded music production house Jingle Punks.
