Hyperscore

We’re always interested in inventive new music creation tools, and Hyperscore looks like one to keep an eye on. Developed by a team at the M.I.T. Media Laboratory, it’s a web app designed to run across desktop and laptop computers as well as other devices, with a primary use of teaching children about music composition in schools.

Now it’s seeking $10k in Kickstarter funding to take its next steps towards being a commercial product.

“Hyperscore is simple, intuitive, and fun to use while enabling children and adults to compose complex, original music without requiring years of training,” is the pitch. “This fall, we have been beta testing Hyperscore for the Web in two dozen classrooms in the US, Canada, and Germany… By backing our campaign, you will enable us to complete the software development needed to release Hyperscore to schools as well as the general public.”
