T-Pain is the latest artist getting involved with Twitch’s music strategy. He has signed a partnership with the company that will see him broadcasting on Twitch, but also releasing tracks for its Soundtrack by Twitch library of pre-cleared music for other creators on the platform.
Last night (28 October) T-Pain held a listening-party livestream on his channel to premiere a new track called ‘I’m Cool With That’. No clearance problems here, because the song has been made for Soundtrack by Twitch, and will be made available on a dedicated ‘Powered by T-Pain’ playlist in that part of the service for streamers to use in their own broadcasts.
The partnership also has an emphasis on collaboration: T-Pain will be encouraging musicians to ‘Post Ya Song’ and ‘Post Ya Beat’ every month, for him to review on his channel. This is part of a wider move by T-Pain though. He has also just joined the advisory board of Slip·Stream, a startup licensing music for online creators, and is releasing an album of royalty-free music called ‘The Pizzle Pack 3’ with that company – which will also be available on Twitch.
