Artist Poppy clearly has the taste for the metaverse. Having recently become the first artist to use Roblox’s new listening party feature, now she’s getting her own ‘open-world fanclub app’ for iOS and Android.
It’s a virtual space with an 8-bit graphical theme – we’d place it somewhere between old Legend of Zelda games and virtual world Habbo Hotel – where fans will be able to create their avatars, wander around and text-chat to one another.
The PoppySphere app is also being positioned as a way for Poppy to co-create with fans, since they will be able to submit music, games and artwork, as well as design new rooms for the world. Hifi Labs is the company behind the app, which launches today (18 November).
