Apple Music and Amazon Music aren’t just streaming services: they’re streaming services belonging to companies whose voice assistants and smart speakers are going to be fielding LOTS of requests for Christmas music in the coming weeks.

So, it’s no surprise to see both continuing to prepare for that, including with original music. We reported earlier this month on Amazon Music’s new collection of Christmas tracks, but this week it bagged an exclusive on Taylor Swift’s re-recording of her own ‘Christmas Tree Farm (Old Timey Version)’.

Amusingly, it now has a bracket-tastic title of ‘Christmas Tree Farm (Old Timey Version) (Amazon Original)’ which should be fun to say to Alexa after 17 large glasses of Baileys on Christmas Eve.

Meanwhile, Apple Music has announced an exclusive ‘Carols Covered’ playlist with covers of Christmas tracks by the likes of Wolf Alice, Ari Lennox, Sofi Tukker, Griff and Dermot Kennedy.

16 tracks are available now, with nine to follow later this week. Spotify unveiled its own Christmas singles collection earlier this month.
