Audoo

British music startup Audoo is putting together quite the supergroup of investors. Abba’s Björn Ulvaeus was part of its Series A funding round in November 2020, and now Sir Paul McCartney’s MPL Ventures is one of the investors in its Series B round.

That round is for £7.2m (around $9.5m) which takes Audoo’s total funding across the two rounds to £13.4m ($17.7m). Existing investors Edinv and Tileyard London also participated in the latest round.

Audoo’s product is the plug-in ‘Audoo Meter‘ which monitors the music being played in bars, gyms, shops and other businesses, feeding the data back to collecting societies to reduce the reliance on manual reporting.

The company says it will use the funding for expansion in Europe, North America and Asia. Keep an eye on MPL Ventures and its Fab Four-nder (sorry): this is its third music/tech investment of 2021 as far as we’re aware, having already backed kid-speaker startup Yoto and music education service Yousician.
