US dollars money

Two startups focusing on different aspects of audio enhancement technology have announced significant funding rounds in the last 24 hours.

Mixhalo has an app that mixes the sound from concerts (and non-music live events) for people at the venue: “an audio upgrade in the nosebleeds” as the pitch went when we wrote about it in 2019. The company has now raised a $24m Series B funding round led by Fortress, the outfit behind the ambitious new TSX Broadway development in New York, which will be using Mixhalo’s tech for its live events.

The second audio-tech startup raising money this week is Mimi Hearing Technologies, with a $25m Series B round led by German VC firm MIG Capital. Mimi’s technology is about personalising audio for individual listeners’ hearing, and is embedded in devices from partners including headphones, TVs and smartphones as well as hearing aids. The company plans to use the funding to expand its sales and marketing in the US and China to target more potential hardware partners.
