Beatport wants to make its subscription service for DJs even more accessible, so it has introduced a new, cheaper price tier.
The Beatport Plan costs $9.99 a month, and provides access to a catalogue of more than 9m tracks, with the ability to create playlists in Beatport’s mobile app, and use its DJ web app.
The idea is to appeal to amateur DJs and regular dance-music fans who fancy testing (in head of product Laren Agius’s words) “what it’s like to control the party from behind the decks”.
It will sit alongside the two existing Beatport subscription tiers: the $14.99-a-month Link (which adds in support for connected DJ platforms and re-downloads of purchased tracks) and the $29.99-a-month Link Pro (with higher-quality streaming and offline locker storage).
