Sony Music’s latest label is a joint venture with Anghami, the MENA-based music streaming service. Vibe Music Arabia will be signing artists across the region, with early signings including producer AbdulAziz Louise and artist Zena Emad.

The label will be run by general manager Rami Zeidan, previously head of TikTok MENA’s video and creative division.

“We see so many talented artists and songs emerge daily from this region and believe there is a real opportunity for a boutique label to foster these fast-growing music communities and help develop their craft,” said Anghami CEO Eddy Maroun.

As with other label+DSP joint ventures elsewhere in the world, expect close scrutiny of how Vibe Music Arabia’s artists are promoted on Anghami itself: Sony’s rivals won’t be happy if they seem to be getting an unfair advantage.
