Rolling Stones become latest band to star on Royal Mail stamps

The latest stage for the Rolling Stones is a set of 12 stamps issued by the Royal Mail in the UK, in a partnership with the band, their management team and UMG’s Bravado division.

It’s the fourth time an artist has been featured on stamps in the UK, following similar collections based on the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Queen.

Eight of the Stones’ stamps use photos taken from live performances, from their 1969 Hyde Park gig to an August 2019 date in the US. Four more stamps use photos of the band and their tour posters.

This being 2022, the collection is not simply being released as standard stamps. In fact, there are 39 separate products being sold by Royal Mail as part of the launch, for which pre-orders opened on 11 January.

When they go on sale on 20 January, there will also be £79.99 framed prints, £99.99 stamp ingots, and a £149.99 gold stamp set for the super-est superfans.

Let’s hope the stamps don’t require Forty Licks to make them stick to an envelope…
