Beatport is the latest music company exploring the world of NFTs, via a partnership with deadmau5 and Richie Hawtin’s startup Pixelynx. It will see 3,030 ‘Synth Heads’ generative NFTs released on 27 January, based on a collection of characters based on synths.
Perks for buyers will include access to the Synth Heads community, festival passes, “unlocking future utility in the Beatport ecosystem and beyond, as well as future NFT and metaverse experiences”.
Elsewhere, Keith Richards out of the Rolling Stones is getting involved in his first NFT, through a deal with OneOf. He’s selling a signed guitar to raise money for the MusiCares charity, with a video NFT accompanying it that “authenticates his signature”.
