US satellite-radio firm SiriusXM has made an interesting acquisition: ‘music for business’ company Cloud Cover Music.
The latter provides music to a variety of businesses across the US and Canada, and is in the same space as Soundtrack Your Brand. In fact, it’s in a similar space to two of SiriusXM’s existing services too: SiriusXM Music for Business and Pandora for Business.
Will these three offerings be rolled up? Not for now. “Together these services provide comprehensive and complementary offerings for businesses of all sizes,” is how SiriusXM described its plans.
Other large digital music firms are also in this space: for example Apple launched its Apple Music for Business service in 2019 in partnership with B2B firm PlayNetwork.
