Boomplay has been building its reputation as one of the key local streaming services across Africa, growing to more than 65 million monthly active users. Now it is teaming up with short-video service Triller, with plans for mutual playlists and promotion.

News site BellaNaija reported that Boomplay will now carry a ‘Weekly Triller Top Songs’ playlist, while Triller will have its own weekly Boomplay-made playlist as part of its Discover Music page.

“The icing on the cake is that Triller and Boomplay will be partnering to present live activations on the ground, starting in Nigeria and moving on to countries across the continent,” promised Triller’s Africa strategic partnership director Joel Houenou. It’s part of a wider push into Africa for Triller.
