There are plenty of reports today that Apple Music has shortened its free trial from three months to one month. However, that appears to be only a partial truth.

“Starting this week, Apple Music offers a shorter one-month free trial to first-time subscribers in the United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Japan, and other countries,” reported MacRumors, citing a change first spotted by Japanese blog Mac Otakara.

However, 9 to 5 Mac – yet another in a seemingly inexhaustible supply of Apple-focused news sites – noted that Apple is “still offering six-month Apple Music trials for new subscribers who purchase an eligible audio product”.

So, people buying AirPods and Beats head/ear-phones and HomePod mini smart speakers can, at the time of writing, still get a six-month trial of Apple Music.
