Meta has big plans for its metaverse, including virtual world Horizon Worlds and live VR performance space Horizon Venues. How popular are they now? Well, they’re growing.
The Verge reports on a new stat from Meta’s chief product officer Chris Cox, who told staff that since early December last year – when Horizon Worlds was made available to all users of the Quest headsets in North America – the number of visitors had grown tenfold to 300,000 people.
Meta has since confirmed the figure, noting that it also includes users of Horizon Venues. Foo Fighters were the most recent big artist to perform in the latter, with their post-Super Bowl concert on 13 February. Billie Eilish, Alicia Keys and Steve Aoki are among the other artists who’ve been featured in Horizon Venues in the last year.
