In March 2021, TuneCore and Midia Research published their first ‘Be The Change: Women Making Music’ report, based on a survey identifying some of the challenges that women artists, songwriters and producers faced.

Now Midia is working on a sequel to the report, now sponsored by TuneCore and Believe, and it’s seeking another round of people to fill in its survey to provide the data.

This year, the scope is expanding to cover women and gender minority creators. “Its scope will look to include the hardships faced by other gender identities, as well as the incremental changes caused by the pandemic,” explained Midia.

This year’s study also wants men to respond with their views on gender issues, and also women industry executives (alongside the artists, songwriters and producers canvassed last year).
