Beatport is beefing up its B2B capabilities again, with the acquisition of Ampsuite. That’s a company that has built royalty accounting, label management and promotional software for labels and distributors, as well as acting as a distributor itself for some of those clients.

Many of its label customers are in the electronic music sector, which is where there should be a fit with Beatport – which itself has been adding more features for labels, like its recently-launched LabelBase hub.

“We admire the SaaS [Software as a Service] products that ampsuite has built and believe that our entire community of artists, labels and distributors can benefit from a more seamless integration with the Beatport ecosystem,” said Beatport CEO Robb McDaniels.

For now, Ampsuite will continue to operate independently, with Beatport stressing that it does not have ambitions to enter the distribution space itself.
