Doja Cat is the latest artist to make a starring appearance in a video game. Fortnite, League of Legends, FIFA 22 or The Sims 4? No: House Party, the PC game whose Steam profile describes itself as “a raunchy comedy adventure game” complete with “a button to take your pants off”.
Doja Cat will be getting her own downloadable content (DLC) for the game this summer where players will be able to meet and interact with her character, with music a big part of her storyline: dancing, performances and creating a music video. The Doja Cat Expansion Pack will be sold separately to the main game, with a portion of the proceeds donated to a charity called ACFS that she has chosen.
That’s good, but not everyone has been impressed with House Party in its early release. “House Party is a misogynistic pile of shit. But first and foremost, it’s a terrible game,” was games site Rock Paper Shotgun’s verdict. Clearly Doja Cat’s team saw potential in it though.
