Rcrdshp is the music-focused NFT platform that has been selling out of its collections quickly, and raised a multi-million dollar seed funding round last September to fuel its growth. Now the company has published some figures to show exactly how that growth is coming along.
Rcrdshp says it has paid out more than $515k to creators in primary sales of NFTs in the last six months, while musicians have also earned nearly $90k from its secondary market to take the overall payouts past $600k. “To put this number into perspective, an artist would need about 125 million streams at the average payout rate on a streaming music service to reach half a million dollars in revenue,” said CEO Obie Fernandez.
Todd Terry and TheFatRat are among the artists who have been working with the company so far. Earlier this month, it also launched its Rcrdshp Studio tool for artists to collaborate with fans on NFT projects.
