Musiio emerged in 2018 with technology that used AI to analyse and tag large catalogues of music. Since then it has steadily grown its list of industry clients, from rightsholders (Sony Music, Hipgnosis) to production music libraries.

Its latest deal is with B2B firm Tuned Global: an API integration that will make Musiio’s tech available to that company’s clients in sectors including fitness, telcos and social media.

Tuned said that the integration will enable clients to start using Musiio as soon as they sign a deal with the B2B firm, with the resulting metadata then used for track searches, playlist curation and music recommendations among other tasks.

The first client to benefit is GMM Grammy in Thailand, which used Musiio’s tech for the launch of its Plern streaming service in November 2021. Its app has already been downloaded more than 1m times.
