The latest programme aiming to support women artists comes from HyperTribe, the UK-based (but globally-focused) community of musicians. It is working with distributor DistroKid on a four-week mentoring programme that launches next week (28 March).
Open to women artists, it will offer training on release campaigns; distribution; songwriting and personal branding through online sessions and Q&A webinars. Five artists who take part will also be offered a full membership of HyperTribe to get further coaching.
HyperTribe says that hundreds of artists have already signed up, but that applications will be open until Monday.
“The majority of our network are independent female artists so this partnership with DistroKid just made sense to us,” said founder Kimmy Dickson. “We hope programmes like this one start to lift the bias in the industry and expose the true talent that is currently hidden.”
