colors x nba

The latest partnership between the music and game worlds is an interesting collaboration between Colors and NBA 2K22. The former has curated a playlist of tracks for the latest season of the popular basketball game, including some of its original ‘A Colors Show’ recordings.

However, it will also be premiering a new episode of that show with artist Guapdad 4000. Colors says this is the first time a music video has been premiered within the NBA 2K series of games, with the event taking place this evening (7 April) before the track is released elsewhere by Colors tomorrow.

It’s a decent audience to be reaching: the game’s publisher Take-Two Interactive recently revealed that NBA 2K22 has sold more than 8m copies worldwide, and that the game is averaging 1.9 million daily players. The partnership builds on NBA 2K’s existing music activities, working with distributor UnitedMasterson contests offering soundtrack slots to independent artists.
