Yoto is the children’s speaker that launched via Kickstarter in 2017 as an effort to create a privacy-friendly alternative to smart speakers designed for adults.
In 2021 it launched a series of exclusive music albums and raised $17m of funding, and now it has unveiled its latest music partnership. It’s with independent label Mr Bongo, and involves the launch of three ‘Yoto Cards’ (the physical format used by the speaker) compiling music from Brazil, Ghana and Mali.
The series is branded as ‘Ticket To’ with each card costing £6.99, and a bundle of all three costing £16.99. “Music connects with kids in such magical and unique ways. We believe that giving them access to sounds from a broad range of locations and cultures can help take them on journeys of discovery,” said Yoto’s head of music Dom Hodge.
The launch comes shortly after Yoto released its latest device, the portable Yoto Mini.
