seventeen apple remix

Apple is opening its new ‘Myeongdong’ store in Seoul, and music is playing a role in the process. The new store will debut a ‘Today at Apple Remix’ session focused on K-Pop group Seventeen.

Visitors will be able to learn how to deconstruct and remix the group’s next single ‘Darl+ing’ using iPad and GarageBand, with the session then rolling out to other Apple stores across Asia.

The company says that it wants the Apple Myeongdong store to “serve as a stage for established and new Korean artists” in other Today at Apple sessions, which will range across music, visual art, photography and filmmaking. The store opens this weekend (9 April).

The Seventeen partnership is part of Apple’s wider efforts around in-store sessions. For example, in 2021 it turned a pair of existing remix sessions, focused on Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga, into sound packs for the GarageBand software.
