Veeps is one of the concert livestreaming startups with momentum from before the Covid-19 pandemic, which is one reason why Live Nation bought a majority stake in the company in January 2021.
Now Veeps is making a play for regular viewers with the launch of apps for iOS and Android smartphones as well as Apple TV and Roku for bigger screens. The apps are free to download, but the concerts are premium: in-app buttons route viewers to buy tickets.
The launch comes with the announcement of several high-profile livestreams from artists including Kings of Leon, Galantis, Indigo Girls, Poppy, and Slash, with prices ranging from $14.99 to $19.99.
The launch also builds on Live Nation and Veeps’ decision last year to help more than 60 venues in the US get set up for livestreaming. “With Live Nation, we continue to build a network with global reach that will help artists continue to grow and we’re excited about where this is going,” said co-founder (and Good Charlotte frontman) Joel Madden.
