Island Records UK has worked with Ukrainian artist Alexey Kondakov on a collection of five NFTs that will be auctioned to raise funds to support the relief effort in Ukraine. The Reverberate Ukraine NFTs will be auctioned in London between 2-12 May, with 100% of the sales going to non-profit organisation World Central Kitchen.
Elsewhere in NFTs-land, South Korean company Koong World has registered an “NFT-based music theft prevention patent”. “Based on this patent, we are providing an opportunity to solve the problem of copyright protection in the rapidly growing music market, and at the same time apply digital certificates to all products in e-commerce,” said chairman Kim Han-jo.
Finally, if you’re studying the music NFTs market, there’s a very useful ‘Music NFT Landscape’ chart that’s just been updated for Q2 2022 by its creator Cooper Turley. It breaks up the market into startups focusing on fanclubs, generative music, royalties, collectibles and other sub-sectors.
