The market for sample packs and beats is getting very interesting, with new entrants from different parts of the music industry taking on the likes of Splice and Beatstars.
Distributor UnitedMasters is getting involved, and now Beatport is returning to the sector. It is launching Beatport Sounds, an imprint to sell sample packs through Loopcloud, the samples subscription service it bought in 2020 via its acquisition of a company called Loopmasters.
Beatport is working with various producers and artists on its new sample packs, including UMEK, Steve Lawler, DJ Krust, object blue, Anastasia Kristensen and Marshall Jefferson.
So, this isn’t a brand new move for Beatport, but rather building on the music-creation expansion it signified with that acquisition two years ago.
